The assault caused the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
